Ask about a custom tourPeter Dalton is a Civil War historian, author, and professional battlefield guide specializing in the Shenandoah Valley campaigns of 1862 and 1864. His longstanding interest in Civil War history grew into historical scholarship and ten years of experience as a professional battlefield guide.
Peter has written extensively about Maineโs contributions to the American Civil War. He is the author of a forthcoming book on Major General Hiram Berry, Throw Your Men into the Breach. His tours explain battlefield and campaign strategy while keeping the experiences of the combatants in focus.
Peter was the 2022 Volunteer of the Year for the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation.
